Inspired by the legacy of Karen McGinnis
Grammy Feeds People (GFP) is a project fueled by pure love and the memory of an extraordinary woman named Karen who devoted her life to nourishing others. This beloved mother of three, Grammy of five, and friend to hundreds passed away from breast cancer in December of 2023. Today, GFP carries on Karen's fun-loving nurturing spirit.
GFP began with a mother's heartfelt promise to a young girl, Reeva, that she would always remember her Grammy through the special recipes she loved. During COVID, this Grammy created a cookbook containing her family's favorite recipes and was already putting proceeds toward breast cancer research before she passed.
By continuing to sell these cherished cookbooks and gathering donations to the GFP fund, we are helping women with breast cancer as well as feeding people in need-- Karen's true passion!
Join us in our mission to feed bodies and hearts-- one act, one bite, one recipe at a time.
Karen Hyler McGinnis was a kind and generous person with a glass half-full outlook. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, wife, and friend who always saw the best in people. This lengthy tribute to Karen written by her 3 children will make you feel like you're old buddies. We suggest you get some tea and enjoy the read!
If you like delicious home-cooked food made easy, Karen's 4th and final edition of the Easy Favorites Cookbook is for you! It's "jam-packed" with her favorite recipes, including canning and DIY natural body products. The photo above shows Karen making coffee where she used to waitress behind her cookbook (for sale!) being silly.
Managed by the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3), the Grammy Feeds People Fund supports:
1. Women with breast cancer and breast cancer research and,
2. Feeding people experiencing food insecurity, especially providing them with fresh fruits and vegetables.
